Durez History:
1923 - Durez Company established in North Tonawanda, New York
1955 - Durez acquired by Hooker Electrochemical Co.
1955 - Kenton, Ohio plant opens
1963 - Shizuoka, Japan resin plant opens; joint venture with Sumitomo Bakelite
1966 - Genk, Belgium resin plant opens
1968 - Durez and Hooker acquired by Occidental Petroleum Corp.; later becomes Durez Division of OxyChem
1970 - Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada plant opens
1982 - Singapore molding compound plant opens
1985 - Durez acquires Reichhold molding compound business
1987 - Durez acquires BTL resin business
1997 - Fort Erie - new production unit for glass-filled compound opens; joint venture with Sumitomo Bakelite
1998 - Singapore - new production unit for glass-filled compound opens; joint venture with Sumitomo Bakelite
2000 - Durez acquires Neste molding compound business
2000 - Durez acquired by Sumitomo Bakelite; Durez Corporation established
2002 - Suzhou, China molding compound plant opens
2003 - Durez acquires BIP Plastics molding compound business in Mexico City
2003 - Sumitomo Bakelite acquires FERS Resins business in Barcelona, Spain
